2025-26 collection
Welcome to the 2025 -26 Collection. (Click on any image to see full image slide show.)
We moved house, studio and gallery in 2025, so it was a quiet year as far as painting goes - a few commissions and donations to local causes. However, 2026 has provided me with a splendid new studio, and I have thoroughly enjoyed creating new pieces to exhibit locally, and through online exhibitions.
Delighted that ‘Low Tide’ was long listed for CASS ART Artist of the Year 2026 in the Professional category! Thousands of people enter this, so being long listed is a win!
(This page will be updated throughout 2026 … so make sure you drop back in to see my latest work!)
I wanted to try the swipe method with a more muted palette, so it had to be another wave!
The abstract version of Harbour Sunset, and donated to the Festival of Ballantrae to raise funds.
I painted ‘Low Tide’ first, but then because the Gwanny doesn't really like abstract :-), I painted a realistic version for her.
So followed a few pairs of paintings … abstract and more realistic. A good challenge!
The abstract version of ‘Resting Up’. Created using the swipe method as a base.
And long listed for CASS ART Artist of the Year! :-)
Many locals guess correctly that this is the path down to Maidens Beach from Culzean Castle
This is Girvan beach looking towards the lighthouse. Sometimes the blue of the sky and the reflections just take my breath away. I can’t compete with nature!
I try to capture something of the character of a portrait with the palette used. In this case, Elaine is bubbly, happy, full of life, and never stops… I hope I have done her justice!
Jill is our wise friend, always there to help, very creative, and thoughtful. Again I hope this comes across. (I used the colours from one of her scarves!)
I can’t remember how many paintings I’ve done of Alisa Craig over the years. I never tire of the sunsets though… and if you live with this view, why would you not paint it! (Sold)
This was a project for the art group which demonstrated the use of tonal colours - warm, cool, dark, bright, dull, light. A good challenge!
This was another project at the art group which started off with a tonal sepia base worked in with brushed oil. Then I added colour. A great challenge. Sometimes it’s nice to be creative and see where the painting takes you, other times it’s good to go ‘realistic’.
All original artwork, with prints available on request. Happy to create commissions, with alternative colour palettes to suit.
